“Literature adds to reality, it does not simply describe it. It enriches the necessary competencies that daily life requires and provides; and in this respect, it irrigates the deserts that our lives have already become.”
— C.S. Lewis (1898-1963), British children's author
Literature is more than words; it combines language, culture and philosophy into a sophisticated art form that can only be truly understood by a few.
The Diocesan Boys' School English Literature Society was established in 2010 with this mission in mind: to unite all those who share a passion in reading and appreciating literature. We are firmly committed to our cause of bringing English literature to all in DBS.
Join us!
Our Society is now recruiting members and committee members. Membership is open to all students in all forms. Our mainly targeted audience, however, shall be junior form students in G7-G9.
If you are interested, please sign up in front of the G11P classroom. For news and updates, please join our Facebook group.
